Office System Reborn

After moving our operation to a new building across campus a few months ago, I finally have my work system back up and running. Instead of a cubicle within a former storage vault with no windows, I now have a (former dormitory) room to myself, with windows. The only change equipment-wise was removing one of the two pairs of speakers, and adding a CD/SACD player. I'm not entirely certain of locating the console table in front of the window with the HVAC unit, but have not been able to come up with anything better.

The Pioneer BS41 speakers, from where I sit at my desk.

Standing in the doorway. The vent on the window unit is set as far up and to the right as possible. The box of records on the right of the table was a temporary-off-the-floor-in-case-Florence-makes-the-roof-leak thing.

I think the pennant will go on the wall to cover the power outlet. In my last office, it covered a hole in the wall where a thermostat had been removed. There are records albums in the bottom shelf on the right; 10" records on the shelf above that.

I picked up The Bluebells LP last weekend at a community yard sale, and also the record box underneath at an estate sale.

More photos of my "new" $10 estate sale record box. The box is simply constructed of stained plywood, and I've not bothered to polish the brass. I'm guessing the owner moved it here from Minnesota as there were many other Minnesota-related items in the house. I don't know if this was intended to hold records, but that is what the previous owner used it for.

Very nice. Hope no storm damage comes your way. Like the AC unit too! :)
Had to use mine this summer due to the home system going down. Not good in a Texas summer!

Hope no storm damage comes your way.

We seem to have avoided it. It rained all day Sunday but no flash flooding, and the levels of the rivers through the mountains from North Carolina have all peaked and dropped with no issues.

Our maintenance guys blew all the leaves and black walnuts off the flat roof before the storm got here, which I think helped prevent any leaking, as the roof did a couple months ago.

The only information I've found on the interweb about the Ideal Brass Works, Inc. of St. Paul Minn. is a few patents for door and window hardware from the 1960s.
