Ok, so in your opinion all amps sound the same. Fair enough. If you can't hear a difference then W/$ is a perfectly valid method of comparison.
Some people do hear differences in amps. In that case, a 15wpc T-amp might sound better than a 150wpc class B amp.
I didn't say all amps sound the same, but I think they should and would never knowingly buy an amp that introduced its own sound with it's own built in, non-defeatable eq, or whatever it has to make it sound different. It'd be just one more added variable in the mix. It's bad enough that all speakers sound different, and each room adds its own variable, plus speaker placement.
I had no interest in amps that don't simply amplify the incoming signal and nothing more. I have no doubt at all that T-Amps sound completely transparent and are worth considering.
So as not to derail the OP's topic further, I'll just say I stand by my original opinion that a 9wpc amp, T-Amp or any otherwise, is not a very good match to speakers with a sensitivity of 86db.
