And one almost got beaten permanently (she had a heart attack and maybe a seizure and just fell back in her chair in front of the office)! That gives me a near passing out just trying to type that. CPR was successful, however, and we resumed almost an hour later. It was going to be a long, strange night from the get-go. It was fortunate that there were at least three trained medical personnel around that night.
A young boy kept picking items up and not only playing with them but MOVING them around, actually taking them to the other side of the room when I caught him. After five polite warnings, I barked at him, "Stay out of that crap!", and got his parents' attention. He sobered up when I told him the lady might be "muerte" and they were trying their hardest to save her.
Therefore I won't crow too loudly about the "crap" I won at the auction, but here goes...
50 lbs spuds (somebody had to EAT, you see) $5.50, new local Oregon-Idaho produce
6 VHS tapes (factory titles not home tapes): $7.00
Purple Rain (A favorite)
Prefontaine (U of Oregon famed runner's story)
RoboCop
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
One I can't remember (everything's still there until I pay later)
I'm sure somebody wonders where the last part of Titanic went to?
2 receivers:
A Pioneer 90s HT with ProLogic (for dparsons my boss) $25.00 I think
Sansui 7070-minus it's AM ferrite antenna and ALL MINE (need an antenna)!
$8.00 I think (it's still blurry)...
Speakers:
Altec Model Three two-way speakers, minus grilles in fairly good condition $6.00
Sony SS-310s with those long flat ribbon cables that terminate in RCAs with
a used clean 8" woofer box they threw in with the Sonys as a package (and they may look familiar to Dave... his partner may have built it)! 5.00
I didn't get the Sansui SE-7. I did get a recent Technics unit and it should do the trick anyway. $5.00
Hitachi HT-405 TT (yes it's no doubt in the most hated thread) WITH what is probably an Orthofon(?) cart. I'm looking at it to see if my new Shure M92E will fit on it. For $10.00 I will not argue with it.
Something listed as "Cover" for just $1.00 (but I've forgotten what it is)...
PhilipsMagnavox CD/cass/radio boombox $6.00 busted antenna, a future gift.
A Mitsubishi "Control Unit" model TX-103R Controls camera, VDP, VCR, RGB, others and has an MTS NTSC cable ready TV tuner built in. $8.00
I may have bought a couple of CDPs, working/not. No, but I may pick up some leftovers to work on for presents...
Pioneer W-103R dual cassette $6.00
HP OfficeJet v40 Scan/Fax/Copier/Printer (USB) $15.00
3 flats with (among other things): 5 Sony Remote Commanders for Video and A/V receivers or CDPs (I need to find the right one without paying $50.00 a pop to the idiots in Asia who keep telling me to buy the programmable and transfer my codes to it--when I don't have the original
:smshot: ...
A CD-ROM 48X and outdoor thermometer and a box listed as "elec. cable" that I can't recall righrt now.
Total with commission and NO Oregon sales tax: $136.95
I got out of there at about a quarter 'til midnight. It was truly "The Longest Night"
