Yeah. I'm thinking using a step bit to enlarge the holes and clamping a couple F&Ts in place. No slack to pull so that would be the logical solution. They read fine for capacitance but the receiver has what sounds like a power supply hum. Better safe than sorry.oh, those. I have a couple things with that setup, including a pre-war radio. I'd also like to know of a new source, but I suspect you're left with stuffing or enlarging the hole to use a clamp-in cap. The few I've dealt with I've just abandoned the can in place and stuffed a modern cap underneath.
Don't know for sure if they are bad. I did find a bad small value electrolytic on the board. I think I'll change the 6 small electrolytics then set it on the variac. Maybe the two big ones can reform...The only ones I have come from a Russian Rigonda radiogram, i.e. Console. Is yours definitely bad?
Yeah I've done some re-stuffing but I can get new F&Ts for a couple dollars more and just open the chassis holes up with a step bit. Less work. It's not a high value piece but it looks very cool.they usually only have one or two caps in them,,, pretty easy to uncrimp and re stuff. if you want the look...
Take a look on Ebay.De, FuzzB . It seems to me a Siemens Cap..Hi again. Working on an old German receiver and wondered if anyone knows a source for this style can?

Mounts through the chassis with a latge nut on the other side. Other alternatives are re-stuff or retrofit. It's 50uf+50uf@450/500v. Can is negative. Thanks.
Look at the Authenticaps website:

They are in Germany and have all kind of old caps.
