I would buy them just for the cabs, could be decent for an ewave project.

i was thinking about it. my dad has a pair of sonys from the early 70s that have a very relaxed sound to them. i was thinking these might match my sony STR-7035 well.

Yeah who knows for the price, you can't go wrong. They may sound good.
