Old SX-line 2SC793 power transistor manufacturers

My SX-990 main amp blows it's fuses, so as part of troubleshooting I tested these output tranny's. None are shorted, but I cannot get a hFE reading on one of them, so I want to replace that one. I am finding few sources and none that I am familiar with. I do see a 2SC793 listed that is made by Sumitomo. All of mine are Toshiba, as expected. Did Sumitomo make these also? Anybody know of any other sources? I would prefer to stay with the oem model rather than upgrade, if possible. Thanks.

Those Sumitomo devices are sold by Dalbani. I would bet that they do not have any where near the original specifications.

I'd go with the MJ21194G as Avionic alluded to and do them all at once. This way you have a matched set, and with the power ratings on them, they'll pretty much loaf along.

Yeah, I am going to replace them all with new, modern pieces and refresh every board while it is all apart (except the tuner sections --I need to research that). Seems like MJ21194G is most recommended, so I will go with it. I have one meter lamp out, so maybe I'll tackle that as well --looks challenging. Thanks.

Be careful with the two STV-3 diodes that are nestled in the heat sink.

When I replaced my output transistors I only removed one at a time to avoid loosening the heat sink too much and disturbing the diodes.
