On a budget audio system . . . my photos and costs

I wish I had kept the Pioneer system I had years ago, but unfortunately it's long gone ... This is a photo of the Spec 4 power amp and Spec 1 pre-amp I had.

Well, this time I set a goal of spending no more than $2,500 for everything to include the speakers.
Here is what I came up with as far as an audio-only setup:

ONKYO . . .. . . .. . A-9050 . ... . 2-CHANNEL INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
I am not using the power amp section of this amp.
$ 391

ONKYO . . . . .
. . . M-282 . . .... 2-CHANNEL POWER AMPLIFIER (S)
Using 2 of these amps - One amp powers the front speakers. The other amp powers the rear speakers.
Each of these amps are rated at 100 Watts / Ch RMS
@ 8 Ohms (continuous)
$ 398

ONKYO . . . . .. . . .C-7030 . . .. .CD PLAYER
$ 194

AUDIOENGINE . . .B1 . . . ... .. .BLUETOOTH RECEIVER
Used to stream music from Spotify Premium
$ 189

POLK . . . . .. . . . . . RTi A7 . .. ..TOWER SPEAKERS
$ 742

POLK . . . . .. . . . . . RTi A3 . .... BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS
$ 340

POLK . . . . .. . . . . . HTS10 . .... POWERED SUBWOOFER
$ 300
_______

$ 2,554 . . . Total Price

Of course, the bookshelf speaker stands and the audio equipment table adds to the price a little, but being very close to my $2,500 budget, I am very happy with the overall quality of sound.

Looks nice.

I think an improvement could be realized by bringing the mains forward, closer together to allow the right speaker some breathing rm, "maybe" toed in a bit, the sub could either be behind the right speaker, or better yet be positioned in the right corner shooting across the front wall rather than into the rm.

Just a thought.

Your probably right ... I am going to move them around a little.

The only problem is that this listening room is not real large ... not too much room to move things too much.

I hear ya, but I still think your going to see a rather astonishing improvement with just a bit of placement tweaking.

BTW ... Here is how I attached the RCA interconnects from the integrated amp's Pre-Out to the #1 power amp's Input ... and then from the #1 power amp's Output to the #2 power amp's Input.

I also used an RCA splitter cable on the integrated amp's Pre-Out to go to the powered subwoofer's Line In

Very nice setup, kudos for not getting those RTI-A7's in black ! The cherry finish is great..

Not a lot of placement options there but I agree on trying to get the right speaker a bit further away from the corner
