Ortofon Rondo Red and SME 3009

Has anyone used this cartridge? I bought this a few years ago and it took a back seat to my blackbird.
I decided to try it on my thorens TD124 and its very nice and a bit powerful.

I've been playing with the load and it seems that 200 about right.

That is a nice combination for, the arm and cartridge. Correct compliance cartridge for that mass arm. It should sound very nice.

What is the phono amplification you are using?

I just purchased a Graham Slee Elevator for it. I do have a AR PH5 for my VPI

No experience with the Red, but an audio buddy of mine has a Rondo Blue that I've heard on at least 3 different 'tables. It has never failed to impress me with it's well balanced, very musical presentation. Shame that Ortofon discontinued the series.
