Panasonic RD-2900 missing counterbalance

Hey everyone,

I just recently acquired a Panasonic rd-2900 direct drive turntable and its missing the counterbalance. It looks like everything else is in working order, needs some cleaning and a new balance. I cant seem to find any info or help from Panasonic about parts. Seems that if you dont have a Technics branded turntable then they have no clue how to help you. Does anyone out there know where i can get one or will any Technics counterbalances out there work for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the one from a 1200MKII will work. check ebay................

That tonearm looks identical to the tonearms on Technics SL-20 and SL-23 models, headshell and all. If you can find a weight for one of those, it should be a perfect match. An SL-1200 weight *might* fit, but the scale probably won't be accurate.

I agree with Multiplex, it's an SL-20/23 tonearm.

Thanks for the help. multiplex i will look at getting a balance from one of those two models. will let yall know if it works out.

It is most definitely a SL-20/SL-23 type tonearm, so that counterweight does work on one.
