Panasonic strain gauge turntables

Recently finally got around to pulling the transformer and Strain gauge/CD4 board out of a Panasonic SL-701 four channel turntable. Pretty straighforward project and it's got me wondering if there are other Panasonic ( Mashusta) turntable models besides the SL-701 that had the strain gauge electronics built into them ?
Anyone know of a list ? O if not -please list any other model numbers that offer this capaability ? AFAIK -this was a Panasonic only product catagory ?

Can't help you here but at least after googling it, i now know what a strain gauge tt is!

I believe there is a strain gauge outboard cd-4 demodulator. There are a few different Matsushita (Panasonic/Technics) cartridges. A couple of threads on demodulators are on vinylengine.com . Good hunting...

Yes, there were multiple models made by Panasonic. The strain gauge cartridge has value but the unit not so much. The CD-4 modulator is part of the system and outputs four channels. The strain gauge cartridge can be used for two-channel or four but doesn't work properly on a regular MM or MC phono stage.

As the other responder suggested, an internet search will yield lots of good info. I know there are strain gauge fans on AK and VinylEngine.

strain gauge "boxes" somewhat rare

I'm reasonably happy with the electronics that are in this close to BOTL product. I have a Pecision Fidelity strain gauge "box" that is just a little quieter than the unit built into the old Panasonic turntable. For reasons i don't understand -the strain gauge carts show up on the usual sites fairly often - the matching supplies/interfaces -not so much.
So-I'm interested in doing a pretty thorough re-build of the board built into the Pany tables - but need two working units -so -the question : what other models of Panasonic tables have the strain gauge electronics built into them ( ya -with CD4 capability that personally I don't care about) ?

Unit I had briefly was a Panasonic SL-505. I passed it along to a fellow AKer that wanted the strain gauge cart. He had a phono stage for the strain gauge and did not need the CD-4 module. I think he built his own. PM if you would like, he may still have the SL-505.

Roger
