Parasound hca-1500a fuse replacement

I got a parasound hca-1500a for $80 and came with. Parasound receiver. Not bad at all. The seller told be that left channel is not working due to blown fuse. I ran it with my current system and he is right only right channel is working.
Where do I find a schematic for this system? How do I know what type of fuse do I use? Is this a DIY project or do I need to take this to a stereo technician? Is there a website that specialize parts for vintage amplifiers? I have another parasound hca-1000a with leaking caps but it sounds really good. This will be a replacement for current one so I can replace the leaking caps. I do not know where to get the right capacitors. I NEED HELP PLEASE, ANYONE??? Thank you.

Woah, lot of questions….

There’s a big chance that fuse blew for a reason and that it’s just gonna blow again.

Based on your post, I would get this to a tech.
 
So I was told by a couple of technicians that possible cause of the blown fuse is a blown channel. This problem will cost $400-$700 depending on the shop you get it fix. Is it worth it? Or should I just get a parasound 2250 v2?
 
Sorry friend you are in over your head. Blown fuse bad news. Sell the thing and get one that works. Leaking caps is also bad news they need to be replaced by somone who knows what they are doing and as they are leaking there is more that is going to need to be done. These old machines have reached there working age nearly all need some kind of repair if not a complete restore.

Thought so.

You got it for $80, so you can still probably sell it for more as-is, or get it fixed and still not be underwater.

the HCA 1500 was from the era when Parasound unknowingly was using suspect capacitors with short lives. I have worked on quite a few. Usually a full cap replacement solves the problem if the outputs are good. And it really depends on which fuse blew. If the main AC fuse then likely bad caps. If a board fuse blew then likely a blown output device.
Your quote for 500 is probably in the ballpark for getting it going again. If you don't want to spend the cash on it, then look for a more current model. Once you go through the 1500 though it should be good for another 25-35 years. They were built pretty well. I may still have a schematic for it.
 
Can someone show me where I can find an OEM parasound hca-1500a power supply cable? I tried ebay and amazon. I try to research the AWG for the particular model but nothing luck. Please help thank you.

OEM? “OEM” was some random Chinese made cable…..
