Phase Research Phaser-R Speakers

Just found a gnarly pair of Phase Research Phaser-R Speakers on Craigslist free, and while all fun would be had to restore them, would it be worth it? One woof need refoamed, the other reconed, simple enough but time and money. The x-over and tweets are fine. Cabinets seem need some love. A fair amount of (c)rust on woofs and hardware needs replaced. I think I'll paint the tweets too. IF it's worth it.

Problem is, I can find next to nothing online about them, and usually with speakers in this condition, I'd harvest what I could to resell or use for other projects and call it a day, but if I'm being honest, the ONE pair I can find for sale (eBay) has the hefty and therefore intriguing price tag of $2400 (nonsense I'm sure but nonetheless).

Would anyone have ANY information about these speakers?

Appreciate it.

They weren't bad back in the day ... and a bit innovative.
Not sure about that exact speaker but the "brand" sound was pretty good ..
Just not as common as Rectilinear's ..
Kinda foggy that was decades ago .. but I think West Coast rockin was more or less the house sound. ..

The worth it is up to you ..
Certainly better than the Bose's that people restore ..

Little late to the party here...as usual. I can tell you very little, other than I put mine through the entire "enchilada" of music, and all I can say is, hope you bought em. You will perhaps, be very impressed, as was I. I would not take a dime less than a thousand dollar bill for them as they are indescribably interesting and there was a lot of thought put into the design. My set were absolutely (still are) pretty pristine and like a brother to me, specially when I am feeling sh***y. There is my penny's worth.
