Me and a fellow Motorhead enthusiast have planned a Motorheadathon, he's bringing his collection, I have a pretty vast one, with 1916 on 200 gram reissue (which helped that terrible mix substantially) and will drink some Maker's N Coca Cola in honor of the late maniac.

Dreading the day when Willie Nelson and Lemmy go. THOSE two are on my Mt. Rushmore of heroes.

Damn it!! That man could play the most off-beat rhythms and make it sound not only easy, but like it was normal! I know he hasn't been active for a while, but like you said onwardjames - that guy was one of my very few "heroes".

Overkill will be spinning tonight multiple times....

Bummer. One of my favourite shows I saw in the early eighties. Fist, Krokus and Motorhead.

Yes, he was what I call a great "awkward" drummer. Always sounded like an old Chrysler engine with a bad valve or something, but it was good. Absolutely love Mikkey Dee's playing, but Philthy was perfect for those seminal Motorhead albums. May he rest in peace.

Too bad. I used to like Motorhead a bit back in the day.

By the way onwardjames, is your avatar a caricature of Lemmy?

RIP Phil, you thundered! I think the Muppet character Animal was an incarnation of Phil!

This will be offered soon for AK VOA, an original block print showbill from the 2002 Tour

Roof is long done James, I have most of the exterior done but we STILL can't find an interior contractor. I am getting a bit depressed at this point. I have done all the work on the house so far (besides the roof) and of course, I can't get paid LMAO!!!

I think it's interesting and fitting how Phil and Animal from the Muppet Show kind of merge on the internet. I tried googling around to see if there were any muppets creators on record citing Phil as the model for Animal. Didn't find that, but I did find that it's nearly as easy to spot people saying Phil inspired the creation of Animal as it is to find people saying Phil adopted his "animal" nickname because of his resemblance to the muppet at the drums. I don't know which one is the real story, but I love how hard it is to tell which one is true. You know, I suppose both could be true. Whatever. Fitting and awesome. A loss of a real rock and roll original. RIP.

Totally agreed, malvo. And the sax player in the Muppets was named "Zoot". Imagine my surprise to discover one hell of a jazz saxophonist named Zoot Sims.

And Ron, if I didn't know better, I'd say you're a Kentucky Wildcats fan with that paint scheme! Looks very homey and cozy! Roof looks wonderful.

The color is Wedgewood James, this is a historical community so the color is period correct. The house was pretty much the same color but had faded to a weird greenish light blue that sucked

I just opened another shitstorm. Decided against painting the back since it poured here and I want the siding to dry good so I started ripping out the bad siding to the left of side of the front deck. You really get to see what you paid for originally when you buy a house. Crap workmanship cob jobs to hide stuff. Will probably take me all day just cutting out all the old caulk

Oh man. I experienced the same thing in 2001 when I bought my shanty. Sitting in my living room, here comes the drops. Roof was a total failure. Had to redo the roofline, add a 200 amp breaker, central heat and air, ductwork, windows, front door......

And I couldn't get what I paid in 2001 for it, even now.

I sure hope you get that all fixed. Remember, the journey of 1000 miles begins with one step. You're several past that. Good luck.

Sad to hear this news, the only album I have by Motorhead is Iron Fist. I'll spin it tonight in his honor.
