Why would you WANT to collect promos - other than that sometimes you get a press kit with them,extras,photos....

It is pretty much a myth that they sound better and also being promo is no guarantee that its from the first press. They are not separately cut or separately mastered.

There is no guarantee that a jacket stamped promo is a first press (knowing how to read the deaxwax is beneficial here). WLPs, OTOH, are usually first pressings from the artist/engineer approved stamper. But that's fine, don't buy them. It leaves more for me.

I don't collect promo's. Mine are all just records that I collected and years later I've realized that they were promo's.
