Nice setup. Is that a Toshiba SA-750 receiver?
Yes it is. I had it at the bottom of the pile for years and finally decided to service it. It needed a lot of cosmetic work as the veneer was missing on the front and it was very dirty. I cleaned it up, replaced the veneer, deox’d and fader lubed the pots, cleaned and lubed all switches. After that, I added a speaker protection relay which plugged in where the in-line fuses were (also added inline fuse holders for the fuses as well). All original lights worked. In all, it has been an outstanding performer.

I bought a used SA-750 in 1985 for $45 and used it, as my main rig, until 1998. I still have it but it's been sitting for a long time unused; it certainly needs a lot of TLC. If I remember correctly, there is an issue with the power switch not working properly and it probably needs to be recapped and cleaned. It's a very sweet sounding receiver when it's running properly.

This is my cave system. I’ve been in this crazy hobby for 55 years now so it’s almost all old tube gear. The tube amps and phono stage were built by friends over 30 years ago. The turntable and JBL subs were built by me, sort of. I listen in a dim room because it has 37 tubes and the ion super tweeters glowing when it’s dark and heating the room nicely.IMG_0422.jpeg

Thanks. We're kinda in between right now, won't be moving in for a couple weeks yet, just trying to set up a few things and see how they work before the rest of the furniture and stuff get here. I like the one we got for the bedroom; we don't really need a dresser, it's really just a big stand for my 2270. Couldn't get the other Infinity in the car with some other stuff, so there's just one Column II up there now. Trying to decide if they're overkill for a bedroom, even a decent sized one, but they sound damn good.
Very much a work in progress, I haven't even finished my chair yet, or put the drawers in the proper order! Cheers.
