Pics of your listening space

Well, after going for months without a component stand for my dedicated stereo room, I decided to pick one up. I think I picked up a nice one, it matches the gear nicely, no?

Some of you guys have really impressive spaces. Hopefully someday I'll be able to post some pictures of the JBL 4355's I dream of.

Until then, enjoy my "decently mediocre" setup haha. :lmao:

The vinyl that I have in front of the wine crate is one of my personal favorites of all time. The Brothers Johnson limited edition red disco version of "Strawberry Letter 23," and "Get The Funk Out Ma Face." :music:

What kind of speakers are those ?
They look slick!

Could be wrong but they look like AR Holographic speakers. If I'm correct they are fine sounding speakers and nice and punchy for their size.
I use a pair for surround in my bedroom at the foot of my bed.
When watching shows like The Voice, I go to 2 channel mode and crank them a bit. I like the show very much and turned up a bit, I like it more

That is my bedroom and only setup... The acoustics in this room are terrible, so you could imagine how long it took to find the right position for the speakers... I love vintage gear, especially Technics but I have some other brands like the Kenwood DP-7090 cd player or kl-777z speakers...

I'm a 22 years old audio enthusiast living in England. It would be so much better if I wasn't the only one of my age who loves this stuff xD

Also, that carpet is terrible! It doesn't fit the room at all but I can't get rid of it

You aren't alone brother, I love vintage audio equipment and I don't turn 21 until June haha. You just have to look really hard for us. :thmbsp:

Yeah... Us speaker enthusiasts are seemingly oceans away from one another.
Headphones took away a massive chunk of the stereo market.
Sucks, man!

Btw, 25.

Aww for real? Wow! Well, to be honest I did meet others who have been enthusiastic about this stuff but they're not like us xD Most of them only want loud bass... But I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Look, my system can put out alot of bass but that's not the only thing music is all about.

Nice! I agree... and that's such a shame... :( Headphones wise, I don't personally mind them. They have their role... I use pretty much everything, really x3 It's still available, the equipment, all of it... OwO

Lovely flat. Got everything you need and at 22 a wealth of vintage gear. Bravo!

Powerful bass is nothing without smooth highs and clear mids, but different strokes for different folks I guess. I mean, my system has the capacity to shake my walls, but that doesn't mean that i should turn the bass knobs up on everything. I prefer flat eq's and nice tight natural bass. Glad you can agree haha.

Unless you happen to live in the eastern US then it will always seem that way haha.
I am a sucker for a nice pair of Sennheiser cans though, I can't help it!

It is nice to share the equipment hobby with someone, but if your friends at least love music they probably will appreciate your gear. I started this hobby when i was early twenties as well, about 6 years ago. Since then I've gotten 2 of my buddies collecting records for their newly put together systems. my dad now owns a marantz connected to a pair of KLH 17's (the speakers being a christmas gift from me), and my older brother just asked if he could have my new small advent hand-me-downs. "Build it and they will come" is my point.

And surprisingly, chicks dig it. They like to see that you have hobbies other than video games. I have an ex that STILL wants me to put some gear together for her. :smoke:

you have things that no one else you know has. it automatically brings intrigue and questions like "can i play a record" when people stop by. i see your point, but its also fun being original.

It's funny, none of my friends appreciate it at all. They all think I'm ridiculous. My girlfriend on the other hand can't get enough of my speakers. They might not be pretty, or the best, but they sound nice when you're laying down making out to some Pink Floyd.

Hey fellers I'm in my early 20's too. So far my obsession has pulled in 3 of my friends. There's definitely a resurgence among us young guys (and sites like this go a long way in providing much needed knowledge)
