Pioneer HPM100s in fantastic condition!

Whoa, up to up to $1525 with three days left. More than I've ever seen L100s sell for. But the listing ticks all the right boxes: plenty of clear pictures, includes original cartons and packing materials, condition looks mint. About the only thing I can find wrong with them is that the serial numbers are pretty far apart.

Here are some pics, preserved until eBay takes them down.

I had a pair almost just as nice without the packing material.Mine had something these don"t...the little Pioneer tag that hangs on a string off one grill peg on each speaker.Unfortunately I got nowhere near this price six years ago.

Not even close, my L100As sold for $3,350 last month. Good condition vintage is selling.
Tell me more. I have two pairs of L100s to sell once I refurbish them a little. Where did you sell them? What was the condition? Cartons/packing included?

Perfect original late L100As, sequential, new blue Quadrex II and new correct diffuser foam, otherwise original (no flaws, no restoration). No original boxes nor documents. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-L100-L100A-Century-Original-Museum-Condition-Sequential-S-N-Vintage-Speaker/202828986662?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 With shipping he has close to $4k in them.

I have L65As in similar condition (plus boxes & packing), hoping to get similar money as I downsize, we will see. I've become tired of being a museum curator.

Condition, condition, condition for collectors. I have a second set of L100As in average condition with the original replacement (from JBL) cloth grilles, not sequential, cabs in good condition but with some flaws, I'm guessing they're worth $600.

<edit> I should mention that I did have two backup buyers contact me toward the end of the auction (one from ebay and one from US Audio Mart), buyers are out there for quality and condition.

North of $1500 is banana land. Have owned a few pair in the past and have sold them all. I just passed on a super clean set locally at $450. No boxes and inserts but cleaner than any set I have had previously. Just have way to many large speakers.

Has to help give us some info on the questions of do the boxes and materials add to the value. Added it to my watch page. Any guesses at to what the over/under line is in Vegas on these.

Yep.I have had three pair and as much as I wanted them to they just didn't make the cut here.I just found a condition C+ pair a couple of months ago for $30.Gonna revisit them.

There are probably a few enthusiasts out there who may have some Christmas bonus money to spend. These are beautiful speakers which don`t come along every day. I`ve owned 2 pairs of HPM 100s, in "very nice" condition, but nowhere comparable to these.
About 2 years ago, there was a really clean, fully-refurbished Pioneer SX-1250 on the `bay, which sold for $2250 (!). The seller did a superb job of presenting it, which was probably about 90% of the deal....

Oh the 200watt version ads to valuation I’m sure. Clever marketing then and now.

Yep....except for the metal trim ring around the port, and a slightly different crossover, I`m pretty sure they (the 100 and 200 versions) were identical speakers....

yikes, maybe I shouldn't have sold mine for 200, never was happy with them until doing crossover mods documented here, still there are much better speakers out there.

Damn straight. Buying a vintage set of speakers with paper coned tweeters like hpm-100 and L-100 for 1000.00 or more is not interested in Sonics as much as reliving a certain time period. I’d rather have a pound of weed and some thrusters for that Kinda silly money.
