Pioneer Reverb SR-202W amp... how to?

I picked up a Pioneer SR-202W reverb amp today for a few $$$. I've read through the owner's manual, and have attempted to get it to do some "re-verbing."

However, I've gotten nothing out of this unit so far. So.... I'm wondering if I've connected things up correctly.

Here's what I've done so far:

1. Connected my receiver's (just a standard Sherwood receiver with RCA inputs/outputs) "tape out" to the Reverb amp's "input," using... of course... RCA cables (duh).

2. Connected the Reverb amp's "output" to the Sherwood "tape in."

3. Then I have my phone connected to an AUX input on the Sherwood and stream Pandora. However, I am getting no reverb effect... or any kind of "effect" ...on the sound. I select AUX on the receiver... I get music but there's no "effects" on the sound from the Reverb amp.

HELP ! ! !

Thanks.

Monitor the tape input corresponding to the input you've put your SR-202.

I might know what you mean by that... but I'm not sure. You'll have to explain what is meant in terms of connecting this to that.

Thanks.

Duh... got it figured out. Tried a different receiver that actually had a "Tape Mon" button. Works... thanks for the tip... it helped!!

Best way I've found to use the Reverb is to run the output to a separate amplifier powering a set of rear speakers. Put the reverb in the background. Vary it to suit your space/taste. Nice effect like that.
