Pioneer Sa-8100 receives radio

When I am using PHONO 1 or 2 inputs for TT on my Pioneer SA-8100 it receives radio signal. Moreover, this signal becomes louder after the amp warmed up. The ground wire is connected, it is not problem of TT, tried it with 2 cartridge and with different amps.
Do you have any ideas how to fix it?
Thank you!

You are probably close to a radio station and the cart & tone arm are acting as an antenna.
???

Do you have a tuner connected to the tuner input? If so there may be a problem with your selector switch.

If you don't have a tuner connected to the amp that is definitely a strange problem.

I am not sure, but it is a talk radio.

Probably AM, then....could still be FM, the sound quality is the biggest difference (am tends to be a little worse). This wouldn't be the first time i've heard of things picking up AM. One of my Diy fuzz pedals (for guitar) at one point picked up AM after I hit a note, and I think hit the right frequency and dragged the signal in and locked it. Quite funny to hear a spanish talk show coming through a fuzz pedal:D.

First thing to try would be shielding the TT maybe, to see if it helps. Maybe a piece of tin foil over it, just to see if it takes care of the stray signal :dunno:.

Could be from the amp as well. Is it always the same channel,or different ones?

That was my next question: Do you hear it equally in both channels, or in one?
There are entire books written on the topic of eliminating RFI. To fix RFI problems some specifics need to be known. You need to verify what station and the frequency it is with another radio.

There usually is a small ceramic disc cap AT the phono plug, connected between the phono plug cable's ground and the chassis. This is because the actual DC ground some inches away has an inductance to that point that allows RF to creep in otherwise.. IF the phono ground of the cable were grounded there where the cap is connected, there would be hum.

The ceramic disk cap acts like a short circuit at RF frequencies, eliminating the interference.

The cap has to be busted.

The Kenwood's cap is probably ok.

EDIT:
I hit the road Wednesday...

(family in the Detroit area to visit too, can't have them feeling neglected!!)

The guys on the Pioneer forum are going to hate the Wednesday to Monday advice blackout period, although I was given an old Dell Latitude (D610) with XP on it, I'm not going to even TRY to troubleshoot online with it...

edit: and packing / preparing Monday and Tuesday!!
