I have a pioneer spec-2 that is in need of some assistance. I have repaired a few audio items here and there but think this may be beyond my skills.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a reputable repair service (or an individual) in the Chicago or Milwaukee area who knows about these amplifiers ?
It was working fine when I used it on and off over the last few years. It’s been off for awhile, 7 or 9 months maybe, and I went to use it today and nothing. I powered it on and after a couple seconds, I heard the CLICK of the relay, but the red protection light stays on and there is no sound.
There is no movement in the meters, no sounds or buzzing out of the speakers, no smoke and no smells. I opened the cover and don’t see anything Burned up. I saw about 4 or 5 fuses and none were blown. Also, it has not been modified since I’ve had it and I’ve had it about 15 or 20 years now
