I may be able to pick up SX 1010 with 165 item all new internal and in 9 out of 10 condition. This would be a good buy at about how much? Thank You

Are you saying it's been restored?

No comment as to value, but I own a SX-1010 and think it's an amazing sounding receiver.

I'm using just the amp section now with a Schiit Saga (for the remote). Just for grins, I swapped it out for a recently acquired SX-1250 (using just the amp section) and I prefer the SX-1010.

Yes it has been restored I saw pics of all the boards and new quality components. Thank You

And if that is for $165, that would be an incredible deal. Around here, a properly restored SX-1010 would go for about a grand. At least, last time I looked.

It was 165 items new internally. Sorry for miscommunication

When you ask about values generally we look on eBay for completed sales.
Do that.

They are asking 700. I am going to pickup after work. But 164 miles round trip. I think it’s a better deal then the BAY because I can see in person. Thank You

That is a good price for a keeper. Not a steal but well worth the money spent IMHO!
If possible get a list of work and parts.

Just make sure on condition. Look at the panel glass for cracks around tuning knob.
AM antenna ball and socket.

Yes Sir, He does have all parts replaced itemized and the pics I saw were before repair and after repair. Whoever did it did great. It had to be the nicest soldering I ever seen, had to be a repeatable pro shop. Thank You

164 miles for 165 new parts 1010.
I'd say go for it. Good working and looking ones go for that much, properly recapped, probably way more. Maybe ask for a mileage/gas discount to the seller. Good luck.

If I may interject here - how far a buyer has to travel should have no bearing on the sellers price.
If you were buying it on eBay the shipping wouldn’t be a negotiable factor.
If the travel is a factor then don’t.

I got it and paired with my HP-100’s the 200 watt version it cranks and sounds loud and clear!!!!! Thanks

Congratulations! I think that you paid a decent price for a nice receiver. It looks really nice and I hope the restoration was done properly. I hope you enjoy it! :music:

Yes, and driving in some directions from here are fun. But it still adds to the cost basis of the unit. Just something to keep track of if you are so inclined.

You're right, there's no such rule and it's not the seller's problem how far a buyer has to drive. Nevertheless, when I bought stuff off of CL and had to travel long distances, I experienced sellers more willing to give discounts based on how far I had to travel. Also, when I sold stuff through CL, there were buyers who took 2-3 hour drive or rode ferries even. I gave them $40-$60 off for gas money even if they don't ask. It may not work all the time, but doesn't hurt to ask.

Late to the party, business trips often keep me from having fun here.

The 1010 is an excellent unit, I sold my first one and regretted it until I found one as nice to replace it years later.

$700 for a properly restored one in VG cosmetic condition is a great price IMO, enjoy!

Thank You, Yes it’s better than good visually it’s near mint.Wow does it crank!!! I personally think I got it cheap at 700. He was firm on price but I didn’t even try to talk down because he knew what he had.
Now I need to recap my HMP-100’s even though they sound good they may sound better with a recap. Thank You
