Pioneer SX-850 with sub woofer issue

This is an incredibly unique and complicated problem apparently. I've talked to several techs who can't seem to figure it out. I've ran the cables in pretty much every way possible. The mains work fine until I hook up the sub. Then one channel on the mains loses power after a couple days of the sub being hooked up. It's extremely frustrating because, well, I just want my system to work and its a constant struggle. Taking all the fun out of it.

I don't know that it's complex. It's a process of elimination.

It seems not the receiver since by itself with the OEM jumpers it works fine according to you.

That leaves the Y cables or the sub. Process of elimination.

The
Is it the speaker output from the Pioneer that is cutting in/out? Sounds like a classic failing protection relay.

The power supply has been rebuilt, which I believe is comprised of the relay, correct?

The speakers dont cut out, one loses power and only when the sub is hooked to the pre in/ main connectors.

Yeah...good point. The sub is new and I've spoke with the SVS factory. They seemed very confident that this issue could not be caused by the sub...I am super ignorant about this stuff so I have to take a lot at face value. I guess trying different cables is the next logical step.

So I hooked my old JVC VR 5511 receiver up inplace of my pioneer. That problem is not happening. It's only been a day and the relay on the JVC doesn't click the way the pioneer does. But not crackling sound and no loss of power in one channel. Gonna keep monitoring it through the weekend.

You need to do a bit better job of pointing out what "truth" you speak of.
Defne "truth" Is that anything you say it is, in spite of the facts? It sure seems so. But, it seems I pointed to the wrong post. It should hace states post 5.

Now, I'm tired of playing with you. If you wish, you can continue to play with yourself.

Don't get your undies in a bunch there Capt'n, I'm just trying to figure out the reference you made to the picture in post 3...since there is no picture in post 3.

Really? They sure don't look like "Y" cables replacing a jumper to me. It does to you?

Not for sure what jumper you refer to, the little metal ones typically between pre out/main in?

If so, yes, sure looks like Y cables instead of jumpers to me.

What do you see?

In picture 11? I don see no steenkin jumpers, which was the whole crux of the discussion. I see one stereo interconnect going into the sub and not coming back.

If you see a pair of jumpers with an interconnect going out then I think you need new glasses. ..either that, or cut back on the inebriants.

In any case, after my posts 17 & 20, the kid still doesn't want to accept the fact that he probably got screwed on the repair then there's not much else we can do, is there?

Of course you wouldn't see jumpers in the picture in post 11. They're the incoming left and right signal to the sub. The "Y" cables, or jumpers if you prefer, are in post 5.

Again, the "Y" cables/jumpers are shown are in picture #5. Here's a marked up picture that I made really big for your benefit.

Note carefully there is a pair of "Y" cables; one for the left channel and one for the right. Although the "Y" cable on the right channel is largely hidden by the one on the left channel, my glasses are sufficient to see both of them.

In any case, after my posts 17 & 20, ...

All that was already covered before then.
