It's all I have...
I have recently acquired a non-working receiver that I thought I could develop some repair skills. However, I thought wrong. I can't figure out where to look or test to begin to repair the unit. Can you help with some direction about where to start and what readings I should be getting on the resistors, etc. I've included a link to the service manual at HiFi Manuals here if you're inclined to take a peek: http://www.hifi-manuals.com/Download/Pioneer/VSXD-811-service-manual
I do have some info on the unit. It does power on and the relay does seem to work. There is a click or pop in the speakers when moving through the various inputs and when switching from speaker A to B to AB. The most obvious part of the troubleshooting of this is the "DSP NG" that shows up on the display after almost everything I attempt. I cannot find anything at all about trouble codes anywhere on the net and the SM doesn't have this either.
I have it apart on my table and would really hate to have to send this off to the recycle center but that's where I'm at or close to it anyway. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!
