Plug polarity

Last week I replaced the 3 multi cap cans on my Scott LK48. I bought the cans from Hayseed Hamfest.
(GREAT direct replacement). Tonight I was setting the "hum adjustment" per scott pot adjustment but had a constant hum. I turned the amp off and reversed the plug and wouldn't ya know, a lot less hum!! I then turned the left and right pots for no hum at all. Things you learn on the internet are great! Just thought I would post my finding on plug orientation.

That could be interpreted a few different ways...:rflmao:

As knockbill suggests, it’s easy to just put a black mark with a Sharpie on the side of the plug that should go to AC hot. If your electrical wiring was done to code, that’s the right and smaller receptacle in the outlet and the black/hot wire is connected to that inside the wall.

Enjoy the hum-less sound. I hate hum.
