Polk Audio PSW505 issues ... Help !

Hi All !!!
I'm back with yet another conundrum.
Got A Polk PSDW505 that I thought was gonna be an easy fix ... 4 domed caps on the power supply ... NOPE !
After replacing the caps found no or little power going to amp brd ... finally discoed the connector to amp brd and the power was there.
+-57.6 VDC after a wild goose chase on the preamp brd. Replaced the IRS2092 D class amp chip and power was ok with amp connected to the supply.
Then it went dead again. Found ALL but one Electro cap was bad. Replaced all and still no power. So removed chip and power back again.
So went about looking at all the voltages on the amp and found lots of weird crap going on. Then a zener went short and had no idea what voltage it was.
so tried a 5.6v which was value on a mirrored supply for pin1 Vaa on IRS2092 but I think wasn't right.
I drew up a full schematic of the amp brd and have some pics with measurements maybe someone out there has worked on these before.
If I get replies I'll post those pics and can go from there.

Normally I would agree with you if I weren't an electronics tech as I usually an like to take on a challenging repair.
A lot of forums would suggest to throw it out and buy anything but another Polk ... LOL !
I have a lot of time invested in it so if and when I get this unit working I'll have a really good knowledge base to work with
broken Polks. I'll be posting some schematic snippets soon with data.

Ya, I get it. I've gotten deep into a few projects that honestly I should have just gave up on. But in the end there is some satisfaction when you finely get it figured out and working again. Plus you do tend to learn a few things along the way.

Good luck w that answer...those are the 'secrets' that you work for, but don't give the results of the fix...Typical...got the same beast on my bench, and wondering if I should even get into it. The magic replacement to make it work would be nice......Journey111 : ) Do tell

Warning: Possible unpopular opinion to follow!

There are more than a couple pieces of equipment that just aren't worth spending time or money on fixing. The PSW505 is one that I would put high on the list. That's because even when it's working "as new" it is a really poor performing sub. Sad perhaps, but ultimately true.

Well Ken, it appears that many threads indicates this factor...nothing wrong w the Truth...I have 3 burnt resistors, and in one thread indicated this, but wouldn't give the values. R203/204 and R107... No Schematic...the one given was only in part. No service, as you can tell by the disgruntled Clients...Hate to inform the Client that it's basically junk as it sits...they never respond well to that!!:)
