Polk audio series 4 specs?

Hi all:

I just moved into a new apartment, which is bigger than my old one but with a rather eccentric and hard-to-configure living room. I'm contemplating getting rid of my beloved big speakers (Sansui SP2000's, Jensen Model 4s) and switching to mini-monitors for the time being. Just saw a pair of Polk Model 4s on Craigslist for $75 and wondered if this was a good deal and how they sounded. Any info or advice? What would be a better small speaker for my vintage setup?

Thanks

Roy

I think $75 is a little high for the Model 4's. I would hold out for Model 5's at that price. Other opions in that price range and size would be Dynaco A-25, the smaller Bostons, AR4's , Small Advent's etc. All the usual suspects.

I payed $70 for my Polk M7s, so I'm sure Polk M5s should turn up for $50-$75 no sweat.

also the boston Acoustics A40s for around $40, or A60s for around $60-75 are a good bet.

I like my Advent Baby 2s very much but others do not like these at all. $40 to $50 is a regular going price for these.

Paradigm Atoms and NHT superZeros seem to be favorites among the fellas here too, so a pair of those would be nice, no?
