Polk Model10's Swap W/Peerless tweets?

A some of you know I picked up a pair of Polk Audio Model 10's a couple weeks ago as well as a pair of Old Polk Mini Monitors with older Peerless tweeters.
Just for S&G's I was wondering if I could switch the Silver dome tweeters out of Model 10's and load the peerless tweeters in their place, and what advantages or disadvantages would it make?

If they're the 8 ohm Peerless and not the 4 ohm, go for it. It'll make a major improvement in your M10's.

Thanks!!
Now how do you check this with a meter?
I know the Peerless work they are making sound but not much sound, guessing the caps are old in the Mini's for 30+ year speakers.

From what I've always heard, the SL silver coil tweeter and the Peerless go with differently designed crossovers. So those Peerless probably wont perform like they should with the SL2000 crossovers. Best thing you can do is upgrade to the RDO-194 tweeter. It's a direct drop in replacement.

After doing a little Google research your correct on the Crossover.
I will just re cap the Minis and have some cool little speakers.

Any pictures of the Mini's? I have a pair that need refoaming.

Yup, that be what I have. I really need to get them refoamed. I have a pair of Koss Dynamite M80's that have a mid/woofer that just might fit the mini's. I have to find the time to investigate that further. How do the mini's sound?

Yep!
I have accumulated way to many speaker projects within three weeks of thrift store finds..
I have my caps for the MODEL sixes still need to chop the epoxy out of the other speaker.
Model seventeens sound great to me but my guess that Caps would bring them to full bloom.
The Polk 10's although they sound good a re cap may bump them up as well.
And these Mini Polk's need caps.
Something has to go, I love my KLH speakers I may part ways with the 10's, they take up some real estate in the living room.:scratch2:
I have four Kenwood KL-333s speakers to part with, amazingly they do sound good but as most folks pointed out the bottom end is lacking, the horns stand out without being harsh.

The mini's sound like Crap at this time!!
Something is not right I am thinking the caps and resistors are needing replacement both work but the Peerless tweeters are week and no dynamics what so ever.
By the looks of them they look like they have been road hard and put away wet, note the rusted screws..

The peerless and the silver domes have slightly different sized mounting holes, iirc the sl2000s are a little bigger. So aside from Xovers differences the fit may be an issue.

That's not reassuring... I hope the Koss drivers fit so I can get an idea of the sound from the mini's. Hate to spend cash and time on the refoam only to be disappointed.
