Can anyone tell me where the Polk Monitor 7 crossover frequency is set and same question for the Polk Monitor 5? I have a new set of Monitor 5 crossovers and I would like to put them in the Monitor 7 due to some problems on the Monitor 7 crossovers. Thanks.

That info is unavailable, however I can tell you they are different. If you don't want to repair the 7's crossover, contact Ken Swauger at Polk and talk to him about. Most likely he'll tell you to send it in and they will fix it.

Actually, I think they are pretty close, if not identical. The mid-woof should be bandpassed from 60-2000Hz, and the tweeter high passed at 2000Hz.

Email Polk CS to make sure, or give it shot and see how it sounds.

Cheers,
Russ

Any chance I can get a copy of you Monitor 7 manual?

I have a fairly unique set. They are veneered in light oak. Almost a perfect match to my LR floor. New mid/bass drivers. The black plastic "cups"(?) that the crossover is mounted on and then plugs the hole in the back of the speaker are cracked around several of the screw holes. So I bought a perfect set from a pair of Monitor 5's that I want to use. However, the choke uses this cup for a bobbin and I don't want to ruin by unwinding them and rewinding with the wire from my bad 7 crossovers. If they are the same I'll see when I pull out the old. If not, I'll probably just repair the old ones and then have this pair of Monitor 5 crossovers for someone in the future.

My second move to the higher-end in stereo was to sell my HK-630 and EPI 100 speakers and get a Yamaha CR-820 and Polk Monitor 7 speakers. IMHO a most excellent match. They work very well together.

BTW, who/what is Polk CS?
