Posting Photos

I thought I was reasonably computer savvy but I cannot seem to post a photo along with the rest of my posting. Well, I'll reiterate - I can upload and post a thumbnail but not a full size picture. I understand that my uploads reside somewhere on this site and I am supposed to be able to find them and insert them into my posting. But - for the life of me I can figure out how. As a Linux and Mac user is there something missing from what Windows users see? Perhaps I'm just getting senile?

When you add the photo in the manage attachments process you can right-click to get the address. Then you can use the image link (mountain view icon) to include the full size image. Just the same as if you were linking in an image at photo bucket or flicker.
 
I either use web photos that have a ULR or upload my photos to Photobucket then they will have a ULR
Right click copy and then in the advanced posting use the image tool. Then right click and paste. then OK. You will not see the image until preview or posting.
 
Can you all so do a save Image as and up load it that way ? or does it have to a be a URL link?
 
You can get photos uploaded either to an image hosting service which then may provide a URL link that can be inserted into the AK post.

Or use the AK "manage attachments" process thusly:

Upload your image from your computer using the CHOOSE FILE in the dialog box that opens after you click on the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS button in the ATTACH FILES box under ADDITIONAL OPTIONS which appears after you click on the POST REPLY button in the thread.

After you click on CHOOSE FILE you will browse to your local file and once you select / choose the file on your computer click the UPLOAD button in the AK MANAGE ATTACHMENTS dialog box and the file will upload to your attachments storage space on AK. A link with the file name you uploaded will appear in the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS dialog box. Click on this link and a new window or tab will open showing your pic. Copy and paste the URL of this picture into your reply - this will be the link to your image on the AK server! If you post just this link it will look like this

You must type in "image tags" manually for your image/attachment to appear in your reply/post
. Insert your link/URL in between these two tags.

Although I do not use the INSERT IMAGE button that asks for a URL to your image, I believe that this simply places the
tags into the url you provide and places it into your reply.

One of the previous posts explains how to find all the attachments you have uploaded.
I do wish there was a search function to help find previously uploaded pictures in my attachments but there is none to my knowledge.
