Pristine Aiwa AP-2600

Yesterday, I picked up this SWEET vintage Aiwa AP-2600. Rare as hen's teeth, it seems. Circa 1981, and in pristine shape.

Direct drive, with quartz speed control. Platter and plinth are HEAVY. This thing is like 30lbs. The arm is on some kind of very nice pivot for vibration isolation.

Thirty dollars.

Is it automatic or manual? It looks beautiful.

I still need to get a cart on it, but from what I understand, it a least lifts automatically at the end of play. I don't believe it returns automatically.

That is one high performance turntable. Yes it just lifts and stops at the end of the record.
