You need to hook it to a TV and use the GUI to shut off all of the surround options so the analog pass thru can be used. The 24/96 SHARC dacs are still excellent sounding.
Edit: you need the remote for some of this.

makes sense.. i do have a TV downstairs.. doesn't get any use tho and would be a challenge to get it up stairs, without some help.
i almost had one but pulled up on the dive and leveled off when it went over my $ ceiling.. i'm still blown away by how good this AMP5 is.. but also how good my hornshoppe Truth preamp is with both the AMP5 and tube monos. [probably should just KISS and focus elsewhere in my stack.
