Quad electrostatic info wanted.

I just brought home a nice pair of Quad ESL's. In researching placement, etc, I find reference to ESL-57 and 63. Mine just say Quad ESL, serial #' 31541 and 31551. Any idea as to year of production and if they are then 57s or 63s or neither? Thanks ....Roy

Briefly, the one on the left is ESL57, right is ESL63.

Your SN's indicate you have the ESL57.

Quad never called the original speaker anything but what it was, The Quad Electrostatic Louspeaker. Later, when F.R.E.D. came out in 1963, it was called the Quad 63, and the original dubbed the 57 (guess when it came out?)

Which colour are your grills? Bronze, or black?
