Question on Project Tube Box S2 setup.

I just ordered a Project Tube Box S2 phono pre-amp.
I will be using it with a Thorens TD106-C with Shure V15III.

Would anyone know the correct switch setting to use on the bottom of the S2?

Shure V15 Type III recommended loading: 47 kOhm resistance, 400 to 500 pF capacitance. Assuming the ideal capacitance setting is ~ 450 pF.

Your phono cables are likely to have capacitance of about 60-100 pF on their own. We need to subtract this from the "ideal" capacitance.

According to the manual, the best settings would be: switches 1 & 3 = on, the rest = off

Why not read the manual and experiment using your ears as the guide?

I will. I have not received the preamp yet and thought I'd check from settings first.
Given its' age I did not think that the V15 would be on the Project list

Thank you. At least I know my thinking was going in the right direction

You prolly want to put the phono pre-amp in a place you can access. So you can easily change the DIP-switch settings.

The manual is available online in more than one place. I have it if you send me your email in a PM. No preamp manual I’ve ever owned had a list of setting based on cartridge make model. They may have used an example but not a table of them. The manuals are usually driven by the cartridge output and impedance. As I said earlier use the right settings for the output of the cartridge first and let your ears determine the other setting. Good luck.

Thanks for the offer but I found it
