Got to vinylengine.com & register. Go to Library and find Bang & Olufsen. Click on it and find your turntable's model number. You will see an owner's manual for download free which may help you understand your turntable.

Try the forum at http://www.beoworld.org/ if you don't have any luck here - it's specific to B&O equipment. Your turntable is known as the Beogram 1600 in most parts of the world, according to their info on it - the 1602 is the American version.

How do you move the tone arm manually ?

Push it with your finger

What is the little stick supplied with the brushes for?

Sounds like a stylus cleaning brush. Brush gently from rear to front.

How do you select 45 for a LP Single?

I'm not familiar with this exact model but the usual procedure is to press <START>, whereupon the deck will recognise a 12" record by the weight and set the speed to 33rpm then, as it's cueing up, hit the '45' button to change the speed.
