I just bought a Denon DP-1200 and noticed that it is getting kinda warm and toasty. Is this typical for the Denon flying saucer types or its just mine?

Thanks in advance.

Is it designed for North America voltage of 120v or Japan at 100v? Perhaps a step down transformer is in order.

Not normal for a Denon flying saucer type, where is it located? Stacked on top of a receiver/amp isn't good or sitting in direct sunlight by a window on a 90+ day like today. It could also be other issues, should be no noticable heat coming from the table.

Its a 120v/60Hz table

I have a separate shelf mounted on the wall that is about four inches above the amplifier. The house hasnt cooled down yet, its 81 degrees. Soon after I turned it on, it started to smell like the lacquer between the windings of an old transformer, when it gets hot. I have been using it for about an hour and a half.
Now the saucer is warm to the touch and also when I reached under the motor housing is at exactly the same temperature.

Here is an idea what my setup looks like (with my old turntable)DSC04201.jpg
