Working on the Heresys

Plan on meeting the fellow next week to check these out and pick them up if passing inspection. Would most consider this a reasonable deal? Apparently the Woofers were recently replaced with OEM Klipsh drivers. According to the seller, bought new in 1978. He also said that he changed a setting in the crossovers to reduce the tweeter output...

AA, double your money and go for the big ones. You won't regret it. All seems to be a good deal. Better jump before it's gone. I'd give up a pair of A7's to have them.

Heresys sell in the $400-plus range, so $250 is nice. Particularly since you don't have to pay shipping. You can check the serial numbers and get the production dates on the Klipsch forum. Also a good place to get up to speed on what you'll be looking at. You might find the Chorus to your liking (if still for sale).

I'd prefer the lighter Heresy cabinet finishes (birch with clear) or walnut stain, but they come in black and sometimes industrial white IIRC. Think there is a lot of info on AK, too. I'd sure like to know what was the tweeter mod the guy did. The Heresy horn can be screechy to some ears.

Hope they work out for you. Wish I had the money for that Mac!

Mac, you don't need them... take a deep breath and realize they aren't going to exceed your A7's or Cornwalls!

Oh, BTW, empty your PM's!!

Well, Riddle me this then...

...If you wanted to match a H/K A300 integrated tube amp to one of these sets, which one, and why????

The Chorus because it is more efficients and plays lower than the Heresy. Tonal balance is said to be very astounding with them. Some say it rivals the Cornwall. If I could manage it that is what I'd get.

7270 vs MA6500

How does the Mac 7270 stack up against the 6500?

I'm brand new at this, bought an MC2100 on eBay for $535, plus add $65 shipping . . . . But you crazy guys have given me your terrible bug, and I'm thinking going integrated too, to compare and either keep two systems or sell one . . .

Wiat a minute, I was asusming the 7270 was integrated . . . I should have researched before I leapt . . .

I might be able to get a 6500 used for $1700 -- good buy? Better buy than this 7270 at $1400?

Easy for you to say...

...coming from a guy that recently picked up Cornwalls for $500!!

Hey Homie!

You gonna help me carry the big ones up the stairs if I wind up biting the bullet and all the planets are in alignment?:D
