RCA SHF-3

by the way

View attachment 2649287 I picked up an RCA SHF-3 at an estate sale for $25. It's in pretty good original condition. Everything needed to rebuild the amp is now on order. I'm currently refinishing the cabinet.
The cabinet is missing the back cover and I'm not having any luck finding pictures of what the back looks like. Maybe somebody has one from a parted out unit that they could let me know about or even a picture of it.
Also, the label on the back that has the model number is beyond saving. Does someone have a picture of that label or maybe the impossible idea that one is available out there somewhere.....more than likely not going to find a good one available. Thank you for any information you might have.

It's the weekend and it may be a while before someone familiar with this RCA console has any useful into.
Please be patient and we'll see what comes up.
There doesn't look like a lot of empty screw holes there to hold a back on ...
Pretty cool - it does look like 2 woofers and a pair of directed tweeters - stereo!

I typed "RCA SHF-3 Console stereo" into Google and found this page -
https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=195958

Apparently not all the sources are stereo! One of the posts talks about it:

"The Mark/Stereo buttons are not for stereo FM, it was not even available when that unit was built. In the "Mark" position, the unit plays in mono. The "Stereo" button is utilized when you hook the console up to a unit such as the STR-2 Stereo Tape deck."

Also found its apparently from 1957 -

To follow up on what @gadget73 mentioned the RCA console I found several years ago did NOT have a back panel and if yours did it would look something like this, material wise

The label would look similar to this, if I'm not mistaken they were glued on so I highly doubt you'll find one

The amp on this SHF-3 only has one output transformer. From what I understand,
only the record player will play stereo but I need to have a powered external speaker. I would love to find the RCA SHS-9.
I did locate holes in the back of the cabinet. There are six holes on the upper section that would hold a back, covering only the record player and amplifier area. Nothing covering the speaker area.
