Re-Plinth TD-150

I am getting close to re-assembling my TD-150, and wanted to check on an "improvement" I was planning on making.
I purchased a set of Linn Springs and grommets to replace the Thoren's I currently have to help with the "bounce" of the Turntable.

Is this a good idea or should I leave well enough alone?

TIA

Okay last weekend was pretty busy. But I finally got this thing done. Here are the pictures:

First the Maple being glued on and lastly the beastie spinning some Muddy..

First impressions are very good. I must thank Mel and others here for the push I needed to get this done. It was a fun project with many twists and turns. A few minor adjustments and I will be a happy spinner.

Thanks fellers. It was quite a project. Many doubts and questions about my woodworking skills. The corner appliques are covering my horrible gaps on my red oak. The maple sides look pretty nice too.

I have only spun a few records so far and I am surprised at the dynamics.

Again a BIG shout out to Mel (Divot Dog). I would not have attempted any of this without his detailed threads and encouragement.

Now the real test is to find out if my wife can hear the difference.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and help. Truly a journey of discovery.

Okay FWIW I thought I would put the finishing touch to this by adding Linn springs and bolts to get better "bounce".

I had a devil of a time getting the platter level. When I finally did most of the "bounce " had disappeared. Plus the outer platter is real close to the top plate. Appox 1/16" it was around 1/8". Not sure if the springs are to blame.

So I ran a few LP last night and first impressions are a mixed bag. I will run some more tonight just to be sure it's not my imagination. Seems like most of the magic was missing.

I may go back to my original springs but I wanted to see if anyone had some useful suggestions first.

Thanks!
