I got these at the thrift store today. I searched the threads quite a bit and didn't find much info on them.

They actually sound very good. The have a pretty good size horn considering the size. The bass is pretty good too - probabaly around 50hz.

Rated at 15wpc. My tube amp makes these come alive. They are not very forgiveing though, with a tuner you can hear all the static. BTW - I gave $6 for them. Anyone know anything about these?

I'm very interested to hear that! I can remember seeing those at the Shack and being tempted by those li'l horns.

Steve,
I just did an advanced search(titles only) again. I went through it all the way. I found many of the minimus speakers but not the minus fives.
If you know of a link to the thread, please post it.

I have a pair of those too. Picked them up a few weeks ago for 3 bucks I think. I tried them out at home and found that the tweeters did sound good, but the woofers were pretty bland. Just for fun I decided to swap out the stock woofer with an older Alnico magnet woofer I pulled from an old Motorola console. The new woofer is about 7", so I need to mod the cabinet a bit to get them to fit. I ghetto-rigged one speaker with the alnico Golden Voice Motorola one, and did a side by side listening. The Golden Voice outdid the stock without breaking a sweat. I plan to permanently install the Golden Voice speakers into the cabinet when I find some spare time. I love the look they have, and the size makes them a good choice for a small room. :thmbsp:

You see alot of these up here on the West Coast of Canada...I passed a pair the other day for $10 , in mint shape! I beleive the woofer is a Foster, in them. I've had 2 pair...that got parted out. Alot of Realistic drivers were very good!
