Recapping a SQA-2 Decoder

Hi Everyone, Does it help audio quality to recap a SQA-2 decoder? Are there any substitution suggestions for sizes or types? I noticed there are more e-caps in the SQA-2 than there are on most other individual boards in a receiver.

About all you can do is replace the many electrolytic capacitors with new electrolytics, there is just not enough room for film types. As to whether it will improve the sound, that would depend on how much the original electrolytic caps have degraded. You are aware that the SQA decoder is really only for decoding Columbia SQ quad LPs, right? The built in Vari-Matrix decoder works fairly well at decoding a quad image from most sources and can synthesize an interesting quad image from two channel material.
