Reference One Crossovers

I have a pair of Reference Ones on my desk that I use with a vintage Luxman receiver. Just for sh**s and grins I thought I might mess around with replacing the crossovers and drivers. Are there any higher end 2 way x-overs out there that might work with this driver compliment? Maybe an auto x-over or something? How about a ribbon replacement for the Polycell tweeter? I looked around and found Infinity EMIT tweeters but I think they are a little smaller than the 3 5/8 diameter Polycell.

Thanks in advance.

Re-engineering speakers is a crap shoot.
Have to figure the original designers knew what they were doing and can John Doe actually do a "better" job?
You might consider recapping the current crossover, can the existing crossover be accessed easily?
Sometimes adding bracing to a cabinet can help, not sure in this case. Also damping/stuffing material experimentation may give better sound.
If you just want to experiment and get some experience then go ahead and try some radical changes.
If you make radical changes and decided to get rid of them in the future it would not be right to sell them as Infinity Reference Ones unless retrofitted back to OEM.

These speakers are in a 4th system so I don't care if I can't ever sell them. I found a talented guy on eBay that's going to build me new x-over boards for them with premium parts for $180. I replaced 3 resistors in each crossover with Ohmite audio gold and it sounded much better.
