Refoam question/help

I have a bunch of refoam projects to do, and am planning to do them myself for the first time. I guess my question is this.....If I elect to keep the dust cover intact, what is the best way to assure that the voice coil is aligned properly? I know you can push current through to keep it aligned during the whole process, but what if I don't own an oscilliscope? I may just be over thinking, but I just want it done right the first time, because fresh glue really sucks to get off (from what I have heard). Is it easy to feel for it or does that take a lot of practice? What I am refoaming is a pair of Epicure 20+ (8"), 2 pair of Radian Research 10-3 (10"), a passive 12" on a pair of Ohm Pro 42s, and I also have a pair of JBL Lancer 77's (10" driver and 10" passive) which I am not sure if I want to attempt myself, I heard they were difficult. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, does anyone know of a good place to get cheap kits that are high quality? Thanks a lot.

Oh yeah, and I am getting a pair of EPI Magnus cd55's next week that also require foam....I believe they are 12". Does anyone know if humanspeakers is still up and running, every time I e-mail them I don't get a response.

If you're working on paper cones, you can use acetone to loosen the glue holding the dustcap down, then glue it back into place when you're finished. Acetone and poly or other materials might not get along well.
