Repairing Marantz remotes

I’ve done two now, both developed issues with volume up and down. Why did they design them to be so friggin hard to open up is what I would like to know. You can’t help but to mark up the case as the snaps are so hard to release, and both times broke a couple in the process so case won’t close up fully afterwards, grrr. I’m sure I’m not alone wondering, why not screws? Rant over.

I'm not sure about your application but I've got an automotive set of plastic tools that works for a lot of parts without doing any or much damage, they're a few bucks on Amazon for a kit full of different configurations.

Plastic pry bar would avoid damage but doubt it would be stiff enough.

Looking forward to hearing from others that have had to perform a similar repair.
