How long do you have to wait before you are 'in' - when clicking on a thread link?

I can notice a slight delay maybe ½ second or so, for me it's there but not really noticeable because I am used to it. Are all AK forums the same in this way for you?

When it's fast, I would say around five seconds.
When it's slow, I would add a couple more.
And like I said, it's only for AK (all forums) and this happened right after the "upgrade".

Yes I get a pretty good delay navigating around AK, I just assumed it was my old IPAD that I am using. Some days the delay is a lot more than other days. I don't have that problem on other sites though.
Also, when I go to check my email or instant messages, I almost always have to sign back in to AK, even though the box is checked to Stay Logged In.

Once in a while I do notice a slight delay when I go to "like" something. I see a brown line at the top, and three vertical brown bars on the right side. I attribute that to the server itself, nothing to do with the speed of the link. I suspect it's something to do with the database updating, or the server being quite busy at that particular moment.

Same here, and it's there for a little while, very noticeable when reading notifications and logging in (when I have to). And yes, I think it has everything to do with the database update (what else can it be??), the server itself maybe? And no, the server can't be busy 24 hrs a day, at least I don't think so. I could be wrong.




For me, the update sucked and yes, I'm stuck with it. I'll reconsider my subscription status next year. I don't mind paying, but I don't like paying to downgrade.

It does contain a lot of good docs but is very cumbersome to navigate and find things in.

Agreed! Also, maybe a bit more exposure? I found it once but neglected to bookmark it. It's probably staring right at me.

One of the main things I love about AK is the old school format that harkens back to my youth when anyone who could grasp HTML code could post to the web and anyone who couldn't, wasn't heard from much. It was the golden age of the internet, before it went to the dogs...
Audiokarma hasn't lost its simple, easy to navigate format after all of these years it still is a friendly place where (not quite) everyone knows your name.

Definitely something that is important to us. But we also have to move forward, as the growing pains we experienced in 2023 showed.

I'm trying to re-up my subscription, I click on account upgrade, then click on Purchase.
It goes over to PayPal but the screen for PayPal just sits there trying to load.
Is there a setting I need to adjust?
Using my old IPad, not sure if this is the issue?
It's the same iPad I've ever used here on AK and to subscribe.

i have had this with paypal ..the fix for me was to reset my internet router .
