Resistors Good or bad?

Hi I'm in the process of rebuilding a Peavey guitar amp head and there are a few 3.3ohm 5watt 10% ceramic resistors and I'm getting an Ohm reading of 1.7 on all of them ... Now my question is are they close enough within tolerances or should I replace them? I can't see all of them having the same reading if they were shot thanks for any input

+ or - 10% on 3.3 gives you a range of 2.97 to 3.66 ohms.

sounds like you need to lift a leg on each and test them again. if you are still out of that range, then yes, replace them.

you usually can't get an accurate reading when a component is still attached to the board compeltely. You don't know what else in the chain is affecting your reading. As the user above me suggested, lift a leg and check it again.

They are out of tolerance, yes. Do you need to replace them? Not necessarily, but I would just to be safe.

I'm going to test them with one leg pulled up as yzracer suggested first it just struck me funny that they are all reading the same 1.7ohms

Some older resistors can permenantly change value due to thermal stress and/or moisture in the air over time.
