Life is a reality.. Finite.. Image is real in some aspect of life..
I rocked the boat today, it may end my employment, maybe not.. (that depends on one person.. no, two people, myself and another)

I think the other understands my position, but(because of uncertainty) will choose image..

I hope it doesn't come to that, I enjoy what I do, and the majority of those I work with..
Either way, I'll be okay, and hope things work out for the other as well..

“To thine own self be true”, but sometimes the truth can hurt others, especially when the only result is the hurting of others. With that said, and not knowing your exact situation, i think people in general are way too thin skinned and are often “offended” by useless nonsense.

I have mostly gotten away with speaking truth to power at work over the years, probably mostly due to having the empirical data on my side, but still likely just a matter of time. I figure if I'm subject to review/criticism, so is everyone else. That includes management. I take my job seriously, and take it personally when others do not, most especially people who are in a position to have a positive impact on the situation.

I hope this situation works out. Keep in mind that if you are competent and serious, you will have the respect of other competent, serious people. **** everyone else.
 
I have found in my span of life, that "perspective" is an element of being that seems to be most challenging where socializing is concerned. Be it home, office, shop or field.. this seems pretty :idea: consistent. I remember the old saying or book, "Men are from Mars, women from Venus", and thought this fairly odd given we are all born here on planet Earth :rflmao:.

On another note, (I am keying this as I drink a tall glass of Sangria :beerchug:). I did see a segment on the morning news about a guy in Florida who has become known for his beachside counseling. Apparently, people along the walkway stop at his park bench and just unload their issues on him. When asked what is his secret, he said "I just listen".. and nod my head?? :dunno:

This leads me to another "truth" I have embraced as a Boomer from the 60s.. "The people, just want to be heard" :blah:

I trust all will work out well for you, and you were heard.

It was a long weekend(from work), but back at it tomorrow.
I was in Humble til this afternoon, handling personal things, but can already see a shakeup happening tomorrow..(beyond what I started)
I'll certainly let you know how things go(for me, at least)..

And I don't think the rest was directed at me, I am not thin skinned(except when I bump my arm on anything, and start bleeding profusely)..

The one person I was counting on stepped up yesterday, called everyone to an impromptu meeting, and graciously lashed out..
Lots of changes coming starting with the new year.. some of the changes will anger a few..

Then later talked with me alone, letting me know that my work ethic, contributions, and attitude haven't gone unnoticed..

It appears I won't have to retire early.. :beerchug:
