Sansui 350A score - Lost all lighting as I was changing fuse-bulbs

Hello group,

Yesterday I scored my first Sansui receiver ever for 20$. It is a Sansui 350A. It is in good condition, but it needed a few fuse-type bulbs to be replaced, some of the pots need a clean with deoxit and I'm trying to mend a switcher (stereo/mono switch) that's been broken. I am NO GOOD at electronics, but I usually can do this sot of stuff.

I had a few fuse-type bulbs home and wanted to change that first. So I plugged the receiver after changing a few of them. The new ones did light up, and some of the old ones too. But after 2 seconds, I lost ALL lights, including the bigger one and the "stereo" one that lights up when a radio station is in tune.

The receiver still works overall but there is no lighting at all.

Anyone knows what could've gone wrong in the process? Thank you.

I think there is a wire-ended fuse in the lamp circuit, near the transformer (underneath).

Shows as 3A in schematic. Or just look at it...amperage will be stamped on it at one end or the other. Go with same amperage and equal or higher voltage.

I can't seem to find any fuse in this area. Also, there is no way to take off the front panel which would allow me to access the area way easier. Some receivers, you pop off the front panel and work from there.

follow the wires from the lights ..one of them goes to the fuse .

If I follow the path of the white wire that starts at the bulbs, it brings me to that board. But I still get confused as to which of these components can be the fuse.

Considering how this thread has progressed who knows WHAT size fuse lamps were installed? Not knowing what a fuse is means you should not be playing around in there until someone helps you. Please be careful as you proceed. If you're not sure what a fuse is, how did you determine that you have fuse-bulbs, which look similar to a fuse?

Once the bottom cover is off, you will see the fuse, but I don't know if it's in a fuse holder, or wired in place?

For the record, the bottom panel was always removed from the begining. I had to have it removed also to follow the wire's path to the circuit board.

Now, I see this fuse. It's hidden in some plastic wrap, I didn't know it was that far removed from either the bulbs or the circuit board.

So it's written TOYO 3A on it. It's got these wires on the ends of it.

I'm looking for this part over at Newark and Digikey but I can't find it. Can it be higher amp, like 5A let's say, or does it have to be 3A? Or would that fit ?

Fuses come in all shapes and sizes, so do lamps. I couldn't just assume that THE ONE fuse I was looking for looked exactly like the LAMPS I had replaced. And just as I said, I re-lamped some of my other receivers with fuse-lamps and I still had 3-4 on hand. The fuse-lamps in the Sansui happened to be the same size as those in my Realistic and Sony that I had relamped in the past.
