Sansui AU-X501 resistor smoking and in protection

Hi All, I have acquired a Sansui AU-X501 and it is currently in protection with one resistor smoking on the driver board.

It is resistor R32, is this a fusible resistor? Do you think just this resistor needs replacing or should I be looking further afield?

It is very likely - check what the triangular symbol next to it on the schematic means - there should be a 'symbols key' on the schematic.

If that resistor is burning up, you very likely have some shorted semiconductors, check kQ10,11,12 and or 13. - more than one could be damaged. Be aware that R32 is now damaged and will need replacing, don't bother replacing it with another fusible resistor, just use a 'same wattage' (probably ½W), Metal oxide or Metal film resistor as a replacement.

I shall pull these and test individually.

The key does not state fusible, it just says non inflammable resistor. I shall replace with a metal film
