Hi gang,

I have a SANSUI QRX-7500........What's the difference from it and the QRX-7500A??.....Is their a difference in QUAD SOUND between the two??...Is is it a better quad receiver than the QRX-5001?

Thanks for the input??

Mike

- The QRX7500 has a second generation Sansui quad decoder. Very respectable sound, with incremental improvements to their first generation QR quads. Not to say there's anything wrong with the QR either ... one of my favorites for overall sound is the QR4500.

- The QRX7500A has TWO of the three ICs of what came to be known as vario-matrix ... a major step up in decoding technology.

- The X001 units have the full three chip vario-matrix decoder, adding a lot of separation and spacial awareness to the mix.

- Main differences among the QRX 5-6-7001s are power output. 8-9001 are a whole nuther animal adding bunches of bells and whistles as well as power - and complexity - but still using the exact same decoders.

PS ... not sure you noticed, but you double posted? You can request a mod delete one or the other, or just post a note to the other one with a link here.

Thanks again, ....I plan to NOT use any quad attachments or play quad music.....Only utilizing basic equipment (CD player, turntable, etc.) with FOUR speakers (two at the rear speaker connection and two at the front speaker connection).
I assume then that only subtle sound differences will be experienced between the 7000 and the 7000A....Correct??

I appreciate your input!!
