I purchased my equipment in 1976 and have been using the same stereo system since then. Just wondering what other people think of this system and what value it has today. I still have the original invoice.

If you're happy with it, I am too! (really!)

On the other hand, if you want to have better sound, look into getting different speakers. There's lots of low-cost high-performance ones out there that would run fine on your amp, and produce sound that will surprise you...

No idea aboput value, but that sure is a great little system.

Dump the speakers, keep the rest. Have someone qualified check the main capacitors in the amp and tuner, as well as the belt and stylus on the TT.

I am with the trend going on...nice gear begging for speakers.
I have become a bit of a speaker junkie lately, mostly because they are fun and cheap. people just about give them away and real good ones can be found used for under $300 a pair....sometimes under $100.
So hang around here, get some tips on the speaker forum, and start looking.
If you find a desirable speaker that needs woofer surrounds you can get them real cheap. Get the lowdown on doing it yourself, buy the parts and a little labor, then enjoy.
OOPPS! What is it worth? A whole lot more to you than anyone else, $200-$250
